What is ''branding" and significance of it???

The American Marketing Association (AMA) defines a brand as a "name, term, sign, symbol or design, or a combination of them intended to identify the goods and services of one seller or group of sellers and to differentiate them from those of other sellers.
Therefore it makes sense to understand that branding is not about getting your target market to choose you over the competition, but it is about getting your prospects to see you as the only one that provides a solution to their problem.
The objectives that a good brand will achieve include:
  • Delivers the message clearly
  • Confirms your credibility
  • Connects your target prospects emotionally
  • Motivates the buyer
  • Concretes User Loyalty
To succeed in branding you must understand the needs and wants of your customers and prospects. You do this by integrating your brand strategies through your company at every point of public contact.
Your brand resides within the hearts and minds of customers, clients, and prospects. It is the sum total of their experiences and perceptions, some of which you can influence, and some that you cannot.
A strong brand is invaluable as the battle for customers intensifies day by day. It's important to spend time investing in researching, defining, and building your brand. After all your brand is the source of a promise to your consumer. It's a foundational piece in your marketing communication and one you do not want to be without.

Branding is an integral part of the business building process. Large corporations spend hundreds of millions of dollars building their brands, and there’s a reason:
  • Brands enable customers to remember your product-service.
  • Brands build customer loyalty and lead to repeat purchases.
  • Brands make it easier for current clients or customers to refer you to others.
  • Brands send a message as to what your customers can expect.
  • Brands convey an emotion.
  • Brands add value.
We use brands as shorthand to make our trips to the grocery store easier; we use brands to reassure us about our purchasing decisions; we even use brands to define ourselves in society.
Remember: a brand is a promise. With a brand, you set customer expectations. When someone buys your product or service, they count on those expectations to be fulfilled.

10 WAYS SMALL BUSINESS CAN COMPETE WITH THE BIG BOYs

---When mass marketers move into town, many small business become fearful for their very survival. Learn 10 strategies to help your "little" business survive and thrive against the big boys.

You may not be able to compete with the big boys head-on, but who says you can't make big money? The key is to do things that they do not do. Here are some strategies your “little” business can survive and thrive against the big boys:

1. Provide exceptional customer service. Treat every customer as your best customer and you will be BETTER than the big guys. As a small business owner, you can concentrate on small details -- every client is important, every suggestion is heard, every phone call is important. A larger company can afford to throw away clients if they complain. They may also not feel the pinch of losing three or four clients a week; since they figure that they will get them back next week — or so they think.

2. Pamper your existing customers. When the big boys and mass merchandisers come to town, now is the time to strengthen the loyalty of your existing customers. One way is to develop loyalty programs designed to increase overall satisfaction and customer loyalty. You can focus on rewarding customers who have repeat purchases, such as discounts for frequent purchases, special “loyal customer only” sales, or gifts to frequent buyers.
However, it is important to realize that not all freebies will work  a free t-shirt may work for one business but customers of another business may not find it meaningful. You must choose a program that your clients would want and respond to positively.

3. Consider collaborating with similar businesses. Join with small rivals to form a 'cluster' that can act as one body to rival bigger competitors. Forming an alliance or partnership with other businesses, even your rivals, is one of the best way to level the playing field and compete with major players without being at a disadvantage because of their superior size. As an alliance, you can harness some of the buying power of mass merchandisers by teaming up with other businesses, even just for basic supplies. This will allow you to cut down your costs and get cheaper inventory. By teaming up with other small operators, you can compete with big rivals by sharing the cost of marketing, such as getting a stand in a major industry trade show  something that you may not be able to afford on your own.

4. Use "loss leaders." A “loss leader” is defined as a product on which you lose money-but through which you also generate sales of other products in your mix. The idea is to price selected items at cost (or even below) in order to entice customers to go to your store; and then hope that these customers will buy more once they are inside the store. Another approach would be to sell a product at a loss, bundled with another that is profitable, such as offering “two for the price of one.” The goal is to entice customers in with irresistible offers, that they will buy other things more profitable to your business.

5. Develop a niche and focus on it. Big Boys like Wal-Mart or Best Buy have a little of everything; while you can have a little of most things and everything of one or two types of products. This will establish your store as the place to go when buying those items. The way small businesses can compete is to carry extensive items in one or two product areas. Specialize or focus on a narrow, deep but profitable niche. You can win against the giants by looking for gaps in the market that are either neglected or poorly covered by big companies. For example, you can be the only florist in your area that has all the supplies necessary for elegant parties -- and the staff that knows how to pull it together.

6. Take care of your employees. Pay attention to your employees and treat them right. Treating employees fairly is much more crucial for a small firm. Even with the rising unemployment, finding quality personnel is not fairly easy for a small business. If one decides to leave your business, there is no reserve or pool of talent. Even with a complete staff, you may find that numerous aspects of management or operations may fall into the lap of one person, which tends to make extreme time demands on that person.

7. Use technology to your advantage. Technology, now more advanced and affordable to small and large companies, provides the tools and power for small businesses to compete on an equal basis wit the big boys. It is the biggest improvement to level the field between the big and small boys. Voice mail, broadband Internet access and two-way radios, for examples, can increase efficiency by allowing small business owners to get more done in a timely and professional manner. Computers also allow for more efficient and professional customer invoicing, job pricing, and inventory tracking. If you are still not on the Web, better start now as a web site can provide you with an inexpensive, comprehensive, and professional advertising in front of your customers.

8. Present a very professional image. Small firms competing with big businesses will find that first impressions are vital. Image is crucial to winning the trust of potential customers and retaining the ones that you have. You must be professional, even if you are working from your kitchen table. Professionalism should be seen from every aspect of your business  from the way you dress, answer the phone, or design your business cards. Plus, always give the impression that your business is thriving, well established and efficient. Many customers do not mind that they are dealing with small specialist firms; as long as the business has the credibility that they are looking for. Think big and chances are your customers will too.

9. Emphasize the uniqueness of your products. People are often attracted to the idea of getting something unique from a smaller, independently owned business, but are used to the larger selection a chain store can offer. In your marketing and advertising messages, highlight the originality of your stock as compared to the universal stock a chain store offers.

10. Give your store character. Most big retailers have the same look, often impersonal, in every city. Make your store stand out by giving it an inviting character. Make shopping in your place relaxing. Greet customers as they enter the door, and let them know that you and your staff are nearby if they need any help. Never let customers wander around the store not finding what they need and no one to help them.
When a big boy moves into town, don’t be afraid. You may not be able to fight big rivals on their own ground because you simply don’t have the resources; but you can often steal a march on them by being more agile, creative and committed.

Causes of Misunderstanding in Relationships

In Cambridge dictionary the word misunderstanding means –“when someone does not understand something correctly”.
Arguing

                • Why we fail to understand the message: because we all have invisible boundaries of the insights of mind and intuitive power. When someone’s message falls beyond the limit of the horizon of one’s mind then his brain disagree to accept the message. Actually no one is responsible for this kind of situation, everyone is right from his thinking perspective. Then why there are so many differences among people. Education, social background, families, religions, demographic locations even temperature has effects on human mind, living in a particular atmosphere, to develop his reasoning power which is not necessarily will be the same with a person living on any other part of the world-this fact works well to a certain class of people. Since all the physical laws and the morality remains the same irrespective of place, race or creed, someone who has a sound understanding of the physical and mental system should reach at some level of understanding at any level of life including both the material and the physical world.
There are several types of misunderstanding, mostly fall into the broad categories of relationships of families &friends, religious ,social, international, scientific, philosophical etc. Most of the fights and hatred start from misunderstanding in the form of all the mentioned broad categories. Misunderstanding raise doubts which might be ended up in a crisis. For example, a couple might ended up in divorce which was deeply rooted in misunderstanding between them. Due to the lack of understanding many of today’s established scientific theory was rejected initially in the past. The same is true in case of political leaders , why some leaders stress more on environmental threats to the world and why other leaders do not pay much attention on the environmental issues. One of the explanation can be that they fail to understand that what is a current crisis to others might occur to their countries or they simply don’t understand the importance of environmental crisis or it can be intentional denial of the actual situation which is very unlikely to the characteristics of the great .

Minimizing the misunderstandingis not very difficult. Firstly, one must need to have some kind of mind set that any misunderstanding can be solved .Secondly try to figure out the main reasons of the misunderstanding; write down your point of views and the other persons’ point of view about the misunderstood topics or issues. Are there any similarities between your and your opponents’ point of views. If yes, keep working on how to find out more similarities with your opponents and try to listen to his points carefully even if he says any wrong thing without opposing let him vent his feelings. Now keep focusing your similarities with him and talk to him about only the similarities or the any positive sides of your opponent and prepare yourself for some scale of sacrifice and ask him for more time so as you can understand what he is exactly trying to mean. Conversation should not be stopped ………Time has the power to melt any iceberg, everything is succumbed to the charm of time and misunderstanding is no exception to that.
Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate. Albert Schweitzer
Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Martin Luther King, Jr.
How to overcome misunderstandings
There is no harm in appreciating your opponents. Perhaps the misunderstood person was your best friend or any close one, due to a misunderstanding about a silly issue he /she can’t be left alone. All the doubts and misunderstanding in any relationships only can weaken our power of growth in any aspect of life. Because most of the time you will find that misunderstanding happening between two the parties those are sharing a common goal. Everyday we are heading towards the path of unknown and our ending is closing in on us, we don’t know if we ever meet the people ,whom we see in our daily life or hubpage, after our death. If there exits a next life or not is not a matter of discussion in here .Lots of lives and energy has been wasted in the name of religions, which is just a philosophy of life only. The same is true for countries which were at wars in the past. Our first job is to behave as a human; What is human: I don’t think human is just a biological creature with a delicate mind of extraordinary reasoning power, I would rather like to see human as a concept of a virtuoso artist , our job is trying to match that concept as close as possible.

In a relationship distance can be one of the causes of misunderstanding.

KAINIS!!!!!!!!!!!

Hay...bakit kya may mga taong sadyang nakakapagpainit ng ulo mo kahit ala pa silang ginagawa sayo??????????
-KAINIS !!-

God will not create and let him live this earth if wala siyang purpose o silbi. Pagpapansinin mo kasi sila msisirta lang araw mo.Don't let those people ruin your day!!!!.

To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness.
What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places -- and there are so many -- where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction.
And if we do act, in however small a way, we don't have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.

WHO AM I by CASTING CROWN

ABOUT CASTING CROWNS

Until The Whole World Hears showcases the signature sound of Casting Crowns and its members: Mark Hall, Megan Garrett, Melodee DeVevo, Hector Cervantes, Chris Huffman, Juan DeVevo, and new member Brian Scoggin. Brian makes his debut with Casting Crowns on this album. A veteran musician and Middle School Pastor at a church near Atlanta, Scoggin is now the drummer for the band. Hall notes that former Crowns’ drummer Andy Williams, the “Bald Wonder,” is serving in ministry with his wife and doing well.

Concert-goers love hearing the stories behind their favorite songs. And Hall loves to tell the stories and give God all the credit. He explains how “If We’ve Ever Needed You” came to be: “I’d been trying to write all day, but I felt like I was tying words in knots. I went to bed, couldn’t sleep, was up and down, until about 2:30 in the morning. My wife, Melanie, sat up in the bed and said, ‘You just need to say, Speak, Lord, for your servant hears!’ And then she rolled over and went back to sleep!”
In an unprecedented six-year span with nearly 4.5 million career album sales, a GRAMMY Award, an American Music Award, 23 Dove Awards and 8 chart-topping radio singles, Casting Crowns remains focused on discipleship through music. With lead singer and songwriter Mark Hall’s 18 years in youth ministry, the band’s message remains rooted in the student services he has led on a weekly basis since 2001, at Eagles Landing Baptist church near Atlanta. The songs start as messages for his 400 teenagers and their families. With boldly honest, hard-hitting lyrics, the band continues to challenge, strengthen and pour into the body of Christ, giving listeners a fresh, relevant perspective on loving God and loving people.
Living life with a kingdom focus, a reaching-out, loving-the-world-like-Jesus-does purpose – that’s the focus of the band’s fourth studio album titled Until The Whole World Hears. Millions of fans won’t be disappointed as these seven gifted musicians continue to speak truth into today’s culture through this new 12-song collection.
Hall says, “Our main purpose, above all else, is to know Him more.” It’s that unwavering desire and the intent of a personal friendship with Jesus that drives Casting Crowns and shapes its latest offering of message-centered songs into powerful tools for discipleship.
The title track on the album comes from a signature line in an e-mail from Roger Glidewell, Mark’s mentor in student ministry. Glidewell always closed his e-mails with the phrase, “Until the whole world hears.” Hall says, “Those simple words are a challenge to be intentional with the way we live our lives.” The lyrics were born out of John the Baptist’s life. “He was the voice crying out in the wilderness, eating grasshoppers, and speaking into the world about their sin. Speaking out in the wilderness is never popular but in the body of Christ, we’ve got to do it in love.” With a captivating rock style, “Until the Whole World Hears” also includes the voices of the congregation from Eagles Landing First Baptist Church, Hall’s home church.
“To Know You” encapsulates the Apostle Paul’s struggles and fears, and brings them down to a personal level for every believer. Steeped in Scripture, every line of the song is a declaration of total surrender. Hall explains, “In Romans 8:29, we’re told that God is conforming us into the image of His Son. His goal for my life is to make me like Jesus. To bring Him glory. Everything else is rubbish, Paul says, compared to knowing Him. And if my life goal is really to know Him and to honor Him, is He going to steer me off a cliff? No. Is this easy to say and hard to do? Yeah. But that doesn’t make it not true.”
The members of Casting Crowns each serve in student ministry in their local churches. “Our songs have always come from our ministry in the church,” Hall says. “They start as messages on Wednesday night, things we’re teaching our teenagers and their families. Our typical Wednesday night crowd is about 70% students and 30% parents. So we’re a family ministry and that comes out in the crowds who come to our concerts. You’ll see a six-year-old and a 60-year-old at a Crowns concert.”
Hall laughs when he recalls, “I was a little ill about that comment but I knew she was right, so I went downstairs to the piano. That’s when I realized I’d been humming a tune in my head for hours. So I pounded out the chords and the first verse just poured out. That’s when you know it’s bigger than you; when you know you didn’t come up with the lyric. I’m not that creative! When God whispers in my ear — that’s a ‘God line.’” The result is a captivating song of crying out to God in desperation, both personally and corporately as the body of Christ.
“Always Enough” also has God’s fingerprints all over it. Hall remembers, “Several months ago, we lost a soldier in Afghanistan who was part of our church. His son is in our middle school ministry, and it really rocked us. You know it’s going on, but then it happens close to you, and it opens your eyes to the reality. Casting Crowns was on the road and couldn’t be home for the funeral. The song really came together that day. When life is hard and tragedy comes, you discover how real Jesus is to you. Your friends and your church try to help, but at that moment, Jesus can’t be Plan B. He’s got to be it; He’s got to be enough. When things that are constants in our lives are stripped away, that’s when we have to know He’s ‘Always Enough.’”
For the first time on a Crowns’ album, Juan DeVevo and Hector Cervantes add their vocals to Hall’s on the haunting worship song “At Your Feet.” This song provides an opportunity for listeners to respond to the gospel by laying their past, their present, and their future at Jesus’ feet. In an effort to connect others to the powerful theology of hymns, the album includes modern reinventions of songs Hall grew up with, including “Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me)” (from the hymn “One Day”), “Joyful, Joyful” and “Blessed Redeemer” − which features violinist Melodee DeVevo as lead vocalist and again includes the congregation from Eagles Landing.
After all the accolades, all the awards, all the time on the road and in the studio, why does Casting Crowns continue to do what they do? The answer is simple: It’s their calling – God’s calling on the lives of these seven committed and talented musicians. To pour their lives into the students and families God has placed in their paths. To set discipleship to music. To challenge and strengthen the body of Christ. It’s what brought them together in the first place and what keeps them going
-WHO AM I-

Who am I?

That the Lord of all the earth,

Would care to know my name,

Would care to feel my hurt.

Who am I?

That the bright and morning star,

Would choose to light the way,

For my ever wandering heart.

Bridge:

Not because of who I am,

But because of what you've done.

Not because of what I've done,

But because of who you are.

Chorus:

I am a flower quickly fading,

Here today and gone tomorrow,

A wave tossed in the ocean,

A vapor in the wind.

Still you hear me when I'm calling,

Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,

And you've told me who I am.

I am yours.

I am yours.

Who am I?

That the eyes that see my sin

Would look on me with love

And watch me rise again.

Who am I?

That the voice that calmed the sea,

Would call out through the rain,

And calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am,

But because of what you've done.

Not because of what I've done,

But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,

Here today and gone tomorrow,

A wave tossed in the ocean,

A vapor in the wind.

Still you hear me when I'm calling,

Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,

And you've told me who I am.

I am yours.

Not because of who I am,

But because of what you've done.

Not because of what I've done,

But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,

Here today and gone tomorrow,

A wave tossed in the ocean,

A vapor in the wind.

Still you hear me when I'm calling,

Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,

And you've told me who I am.

I am yours.

I am yours.

I am yours.

Whom shall I fear

Whom shall I fear

I am yours..

I am yours..
